Lake Angela is the current poet laureate of Bucks County. Her latest book, Scivias Choreomaniae, or “Know the Ways of the Dancing Madness,” is a poetry collection based on her work as a dance therapist at a state psychiatric hospital. Lake holds a Ph.D. in the intersemiotic translation of Austrian Expressionist poetry into dance and has her MFA in poetry. Her work can be read in The Common, Bayou, Seneca Review, ANMLY, and Passages North, among others. Her poetry-dance work with “Companyia Lake Angela” advocates for schizophrenia spectrum creativity, decarceration, and nonhuman beings’ rights. Read more about her at www.lakeangeladance.com.
